As my parents were both working artists, a photographer and a graphic designer, I developed my understanding and love of art in its many forms early on, but as a working adult took it in the direction of the performing arts; film, theater and dance. Throughout I always continued to be a shutterbug, camera at the ready, developing my eye, my aesthetic sense and my viewpoint. I enjoy traveling and exploring the diversity of stories, peoples and cultures, whether across the country and the globe or right next door. I want to tell a story and show the world in the way I see it. Finding the humor. Focusing on the details. Capturing the true story and authentic emotion of a moment. Highlighting the beauty of our surroundings that might go unnoticed. Working with available light and atmosphere to create an image that evokes a feeling or makes one pause to think, something ‘dynamic and dramatic’, as my father would say.
